Cousin Sleep Over

For many people in the Ball family the Cabin holds a special place in our heart. Growing up I remember spending many summer days and some very special summer nights with family, dirt, and steak dinners. As time has gone on the visits grow farther apart but I love going back and taking my kids.

I was last at the cabin 3 years ago when Nathan was pretty much Andy's age. It wasn't really enjoyable for me at the time because all he wanted to do was eat dirt and grab for bugs. Thankfully in his older age he now gets to enjoy the fun of the cabin. A couple of weeks back we had the change to go up and have a get together with family. All of the little cousins got to have their first sleep over. It was really fun to see the cabin through Nathan's eyes.

Summer Lovin

I just want to say that we have been having a wonderful summer. After spending the last 2 summers pregnant and miserable I can say that I am truly enjoying summer time with the family. Most evenings the kids and I sit out on the front step and wait for Jake to get home. I usually have dinner waiting so we can head right to the table once he pulls in. As soon as dinner is over we usually start watering in the back yard. This year we have spent a lot of time working on our garden. We planted tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and several herbs. After dinner we make the rounds with the hose and make sure everything is looking good. It is our favorite part of the day.

The other night I decided to pull out the camera. The kids go down for bed around 7:30 so we really only have about 20 to 30 minutes of after dinner fun. Thankfully the time is well spent. Usually the watering takes about 10 minutes before we can leave the rest to the sprinkler to do the lawn. Once that is going it is dad and boy time. Squirt guns were probably the best money spent this summer. Andy on the other hand prefers the sandbox.

These are the best day's of my life. I am so thankful for this time. Hug your babies and know that times goes fast.

It's the 4th of July!!!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July. We here at the Cefalo home had a wonderful time. The day started with me and the boy's calling grandma and grandpa Ball to sing the 4th of July song. This consists of singing It's the 4th of July over and over again while marching around the living room. You can thank my parents for starting that tradition.

Jake had to work during the day so we decided to have a BBQ with friends here in Elko. The food was great and the friends were better. The kids did some crafts and the best part was of course the fireworks. The only thing that made the evening better is that we have one of the best views in town from our front yard.

Andy enjoyed the evening but he didn't make it much past 7:00

We had several little friends keep us busy

The kids enjoyed snacks as they waited for the fireworks to start

I had never done firework picture before so I had a great time trying it out
