Our family summer

Ok so right now I should be editing or going to bed but I can't seem to get there. Jake is now gone for the summer. He will return on busy weekends but other than that he wants to work hard for us and get lots and lots of overtime. This give me little or not desire to go to bed. I miss him and I am pathetic and find the bed very lonely. Nathan isn't a very good replacement. Cute but I am afraid to snuggle with him at night.

Nathan has had a difficult time adjusting. We have been very lucky when it comes to family time. During the school year Jake doesn't work much. This is due to summer internships and scholarships which we are so thankful for. Because Jake doesn't work much we are lucky to have him at home a lot of the time. This morning Nathan woke and (he was on our bed) he started looking around. He had this look in his eyes like "where is dad" He kept looking out the bedroom door thinking Jake was going to come in and scare him (this is something that happens a lot with them). It was kind of sad when he wasn't there.

Jake started just today (it is not midnight yet) in the pit. He spent all of last week in mandatory safety training. It sounds like they are having him survey during the first week or two. Hopefully he gets assigned a cool project as the summer goes along. This will be his last internship before we start looking for jobs next fall. Jake really likes this company the biggest draw back is he has to be on a bus as 4:00 in the morning :P Hopefully he gets a better nightly schedule.

I am busy with my work right now. I have been very blessed and I have been working regularly. I am currently operating at my max. I only have 3 slot for weddings the rest of the summer. Woo Hoo! I never would have thought that I would be working this much. I just hope it keeps up. If any of you know people who need pictures send them my way. If you have a friend book a wedding I will give you a 50.00 referral fee :O I am that cool. (you get the check after the event;) ) It has sure been an adventure taking care of Nathan without Jake. I have really appreciated all of Jake's help this past year. I am really missing him right now. I love the baby but it is nice to pass him off for a little while when you have had a day full of poopy diapers and tears. I am sure it will get easier or I will get crazier and not notice the wackyness of my life.

This picture of Nathan is from today as we were out in the stroller. His hair is getting so dark. I love it.

Ice cream

Look at those longing eyes!

This is his first bite :)

Nathan had his first ice cream cone this week.We went to a end of the school year bash this week. They had all sorts of fun things. I can't wait for next year when Nathan is a little older. He will enjoy it so much more. They had a petting zoo, rock wall, blow up bouncer, popcorn, pizza, and ice cream. As we walked around he just sat all wide eyed. He had this look on his face like "what is going on here?".

As we walked around we got all of our free treats. I shared my pizza with him. He loves trying anything that I eat. At first when we got the ice cream we weren't going to give him any. But the longing look in his eyes won us over. We gave in and I gave him a taste. At first he just opened his mouth and put it over the entire cone. He just sat there like " am I doin this right". When he took his mouth off he left a little treat of left over pizza. We kept on trying and after a little bit he got the idea.

Once he got a good taste he went a little crazy. They were really small cones. He finished mine in just a minute. Then he turned on Jake. It was so cute. Thankfully I had my camera. I took some of the cutest shots. It was so funny that we got another one and took it up to Jon and Tami's so they could see the cuteness. He was super sweet. Literally:)
